Renegade

Here are some long over due photos from Renegade in Chicago. My mom and I drove 12 hrs there and 12hrs back. It was all worth it because I had a fabulous time and met some incredible people.
Annie Bananie is this super cute girl from L.A. who makes her own clothing. Each piece is designed and hand stitched together all by her....they are amazing. Check her out on etsy.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Jessie Oleson, aka the Cake Spy, from Seattle. She illustrates really cute cupcakes and makes them into magnets, pins, cards, and other must haves for the cupcake lover. As well as being an artist this lovely woman travels to bakeries all over the USA and writes about it. Check out the rave reviews on cakespy.com.

Thanks to all who bought jewelry...hope you love you lil' treasures.

Jack-Jack is Famous

My kitty necklace is now on Modcloth. Check it out in the new arrival section. They named him Aesop's Fable Necklace in cat.

I heart Vintage

About a week ago my mom spotted two vintage 1950's kitten dinette sets at a vintage shop in the North East. After much convincing, I got Dan to dive me up there to take a look at them. I ended up picking the oval one with a smooth steel edging and table leaf. The top is the traditional gray "Crackled Ice", but the chrome legs are straight with a ball foot instead of the typical curved leg. Right now the table is disassembled. I have sanded down the steel edging, cleaned the table vigorously with 409, and de-rusted and polished the chrome legs. Tomorrow I plan on priming and painting the steel edging. Stay tuned for the "after" pictures.

Chicago, Chicago...that toddlin' town

Recently I was accepted to the Renegade Handmade Craft Fair in Chicago. On September 11th I will be road tripping it with my mom, so I can sport my wares on the streets of Chicago, September 12th & 13th. At this show I'm going to have new displays, plastic bangles with animal charms, more one of a kind pieces, and some limited additions works added to the mix. So stay tuned.

Mod Cloth: Chomping at the Bit

It has been only ten days since I sent out my order to Modcloth.com. , but I check the web site everyday now looking to see if my "Sitting Foxy" and "Jack-Jack the Bandit" necklaces have hit the new arrival section yet. I just might be premature on my action, but I am so excited and can't seem to be patient.

Furkid

At the SSW works show I met a lady by the name of Jennifer work works for the FurKid rescue. It is an organization that helps find new homes for rescued pitt bulls. When I met Jennifer she was carrying around a six week old brindle puppy by the name of Teenie , she was so cute and is still available for adoption. If I could, would totally adopt Snowy, a boxer, french bulldog, pit mix.
After the show Jennifer contacted me and requested my "Princess Puppy" necklace at the same size as the fox necklace as a special order. I was so excited to do this piece for such a fierce dog lover. I shipped it out today so I hope she loves it!

You Live and You Learn

The SSW show in Pittsburgh wasn't what I expected it to be. The show was set up in the middle of the SSW which consists of a large number of retail stores and a couple of restaurants. The place was over run with tons of people more interested in buying a five dollar tee from Forever 21 or a hundred dollar one from Benetton. All the vendors were also competing the retail stores outside tables filled with the cheep crap left over from the previous season. The "I Made it Market" would benefit from having the show in a less commercial environment.
You live and learn.
On a more positive note...
The owner's of ModCloth.com happened to be out Friday night of the show on a movie date and came upon my booth by accident. Susan, the founder of ModCloth, ended up loving and purchasing my "Sitting Foxy" necklace and leaving me with her card and told me to contact them for an order.
I now have a very nice order for "Sitting Foxy" and "Jack-Jack the Bandit. " So in September keep a look out for these pieces on the ModCloth web site!

Hair of the Dog Craft Show Sunday

I have a table at the Hair of the Dog Craft Show on June 28th. Come and drink free Pabst and buy amazing crafts from some talented artists. The show is from 12:00 to 7:00 at The 941 Theater at 941 North Front Street. It's indoors, so it will be a good way to get out of the heat if you don't have ac.

We Have The Cool Guests

Savannah is an amazing city. Dan and I went there a few weeks ago for a four day trip and a good friends wedding. It was the first time Dan had ever flew and he handled it better then I did, my stomach doesn't appreciate it. We stayed in this hilarious motel called the Thunder Bird Inn. Everything was maintained and restored to its original 70's motif. After arriving we were greeted by a woman with entirely too much make up and decked out in a black dress who offered us turn down service and moon pies! Dan and I loved Factors Walk and the cobble stone streets. Every couple of blocks there are fountains and trees...nothing like Philly. one of our favorite places is this daiquiri bar called Chili Willies where the whole bar is just a wall of slushy machines full of liquored up frozen mixtures. They range from Bahama Mama's to a drink they call "Call a Cab", because it is loaded up with grain alcohol. Dan's favorite part was that we could order a drink and then walk down the street with it and shop. My other favorite stop was a pizza place called Vinnie Van Gogo's.... amazing pizza and they even served Lager. It was so nice and clean and people are friendly. Savannah is one place I would love to visit again.

Fun times for all...

I had a great time at the Art Star Craft Bazaar this past weekend. Thanks so much to Meghan and Erin for putting on such a great event. For my first "real" craft show, I think I didn't do to bad. My only regret is when my first tent took flight and went straight up a wrought iron fence and mangled its self...ha.. that was fun. Lucky, no one got hurt and my stuff didn't get ruined. This happened on Saturday, Sunday I had cinder blocks to tie down the fort.(The pics are from Sunday) Thank you to all who bought a piece, I hope you enjoy. I also had the pleasure of meeting the lovely lady Gretchen of Bird Queen Designs and her fabulous friend Jeanette. Her and I made a trade and I am very excited about owning one of her pieces. I had so much fun doing this event and I hope to do more in the future. I also have to thank my mom for helping me out each day with my set up and making the super cute pouches for my jewelry.

Where the Magic Happens...or the Mess

When I describe how small my apartment is I feel like it's hard for people to imagine. So this is what my living room looks like minus the tv, couch, and the three cats.
